Affiliate Marketing is by far the easiest way to earn money online if you are shown how to do it correctly. With the majority of all well known main stream companies offering some type of affiliate program there recently has been a rise in online education directed at Affiliate Marketing.
Companies usually provide marketing materials (banners, email swipes, etc.) for you to use, however without the proper training you blend in with other affiliates that are lacking the knowledge of how to go about it correctly.
Although it would benefit these companies in the long run to train their affiliates, none of them offer the training that is required.
I have watched a lot of webinars directed at Affiliate Marketing training. Depending on how serious you are about making a living (or a second income at it) will depend on whether the investment (time and money) is worth it for you.
You can watch 100’s of youtube videos on how to do it, but the majority of them will not give you the full insight that will teach you how to separate yourself from the masses of Affiliates online. Through trial and error (which can be costly not only for your money but time) you will see a pattern of how to do it. But the learning curve will take time, and if you are Very Serious about making a living at it, I would recommend taking a course on it. (To my knowledge a complete A to Z training for Affiliate Marketing is not available at Universities at least ones that can teach you everything in 30 days or less)
The ‘Business Plan’ that you should follow should teach you all of the following:
Mindset Shift (this is the most important part of marketing — as the mental aspect of marketing is 80% and the mechanics is about 20%)
Setting up your foundation — which should include a way to build a list (capture emails for future or follow up offers and emails) i.e. a sales funnel. How to follow up and communicate i.e. Auto-responder integration.
Resources and ways to differentiate you from the average affiliate (i.e. resources for ad and banner creations, as well as video sources) note: there are a lot of free options out there if you know where to look. However a lot of mentors will push you in the direction of who they use -which in turn gives them an affiliate commission ;) With a little research you can find options without paying any additional money. (Remember you are already paying for the course to learn how)
Training that will teach you how to convert prospects into paying customers through follow up sequences.
And of course — it must include training on traffic generation. How to get prospects to see your offer for pennies on the dollar.
If you are “all-in” to creating a long term business out of being an Affiliate Marketer, I would recommend finding a program that incorporates all of the above. One that offers a minimum of a 30 day money back guarantee*, has 24 hour support, one that will allow you to watch the training videos over and over (a benefit that a university classroom can not give you), and also one that has a Mentor who has a proven track record of success.
*Note: Depending on the training program, if they offer a monthly or split payment option, I would recommend trying that first. You can always upgrade at a later date. Be careful of ones that do not offer those options*
